What is Testing and Balancing Commercial HVAC systems? Testing and balancing (TAB) involves taking air and water measurements and adjusting the flows to achieve optimum performance of the building’s HVAC equipment. The balancing is based on the design flow values provided by a mechanical engineer.

 

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED

• 3+ years’ experience in the construction or service industry

• Proficient in basic math

• Basic computer skills to including Microsoft Excel

• Professional demeanor and appearance

• Strong work ethic

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

 

Skills Required:

• Test, adjust, and balance commercial HVAC systems

• Assist in conducting tests using technical meters and instruments

• Assist in adjusting and balancing system components to meet design specs

• Read and interpret blueprints

• Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical systems
