Job Title: Mechanical designer - Posted: 3/21/08
Description: Expanding Full Service Mechanical Contractor is looking for a Mechanical Designer to help with the growing project load. The company is looking for someone with experience working in the HVAC, Plumbing/Piping discipline using 3D CAD applications to perform the layout. The applicant must be able to understand and interpret submittals, architectural, structural, piping/plumbing and mechanical drawings to identify spatial issues.
Job Functions Include:
Layout of HVAC, Plumbing/Piping systems on commercial, industrial, and institutional projects using 3D CAD Software
Generate fabrication/erection drawings and bills of material from available 3D CAD model and/or contract drawings and specifications
Work with project leads in the effort of trade coordination for construction purposes
Required Skills Include:
Strong experience in commercial HVAC mechanical piping, plumbing sheet metal coordination process using
AutoCAD 2005 or higherExperience with CADPipe HVAC and Commercial Piping a strong plus
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Excellent organizational skills
General knowledge of the construction process
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and MS Project
Experience in commercial HVAC mechanical piping, plumbing and sheet metal
Experience in the Plan & Spec/Design Build process in the mechanical commercial industry
Experience with any of the following strongly preferred: sanitary waste & vent, hot & cold water design,
storm water and roof drain design, medical gas & general gas systems3 - 5 years experience required
